Saitech has worked with many clients across a diverse range of industries. This includes leading education providers, such as The University of Adelaide, and institutions, such as the South Australian Museum. Selected clients have been profiled below.

The South Australian Museum

The South Australian Museum commissioned Saitech to produce two websites for the Upper Sepik-Central New Guinea Project; a research project jointly funded by SAM, the Australian Research Council, and Ok Tedi Mining. The project explores the relationships between material culture, and language, geographical propinquity, population, subsistence and environment, in two adjacent regions of Papua New Guinea.

The first facet of the project was development of a website that provided an overview of the project, facilitated periodic announcements, archived progress reports, and provided for the display of other literature and media. This was achieved through the integration of a custom design, featuring several panoramic photographs of the region, with a customised installation of the Wordpress publishing platform to facilitate streamlined content management.

The second component of the project involved developing a web-based application to provide access to the dataset collected throughout the project. The dataset was comprised of over fifteen-thousand artifacts, originating from the Upper Sepik-Central region of New Guinea. The web application that Saitech developed used a Ruby on Rails back-end to provide a JSON data  source. The Javascript library Ext JS was used to develop the front-end. The Google Maps v3 Javascript API provided mapping functionality. PostgreSQL was used as the database management system, and PostGIS was used to ‘spatially enable’ the PostgreSQL server, allowing the coordinates of each artifact to be stored as geographic objects.

Vehicle Hunt

The Vehicle Hunt website catalogues trucks, cars, tractors, and vans available for purchase from three Isuzu dealerships based in South Australia. Users can search by various attributes to find their next vehicle. The site enables users to search for vehicles based on attributes such as make, model, colourThe website was built using Ruby on Rails and the Prototype Javascript framework, backed by a PostgreSQL database.

Administration functionality allows stock to be easily updated via appropriately structured CSV files. Once uploaded, each stock item can be individually edited. Stock may also be removed from the website individually or en-masse. A combination of ImageMagick and Ruby are used to automatically scale and compress images of stock. Formstack integration provides an easy management interface for forms, and a centralised location for form-submitted data.

Isuzu

Saitech developed three websites, for Isuzu dealerships based in Burton, Hampstead Gardens, and Port Augusta. Consistent design elements were applied to each template, to maintain brand continuity. This was consolidated by individual colour themes and content structure. These websites are supported by BrowserCMS, a Rails-based content management system facilitating enterprise-level administration functionality.

Dawn

The Dawn website represented an opportunity for Saitech to reinvigorate the existing design, and implement a new back-end to facilitate more intuitive content management. A key feature of the Dawn website is seamless integration with Flickr, which is used to serve product images. The administrator can simply upload images to Flickr using web- or desktop-based tools, and tag images with the ID of a product. Products, which are added through the website’s back-end, will automatically pull through images from Flickr that are tagged with their product ID.

The University of Adelaide

Saitech provides ongoing web application development, maintenance, and consultation services to the University of Adelaide Business School.

Three web applications have been developed to-date. The first allows potential tutors to submit an application. It contains administrative functionality allowing staff members to review and manage these applications. The system integrates with the University's CAS-based authentication system, allowing students to create their profile using their standard University credentials.

The second web application allows students to reserve a time slot for their group in which an oral presentation will be undertaken. Student ID numbers are loaded from a CSV file and then cited by students to secure their time slot, based on their selection from a date/location matrix. The system reflects bookings in real-time, ensuring that no time slot will be double-booked.

The third web application allows students to submit their profile for inclusion in the Commerce Graduate Yearbook. This semi-annual publication contains profiles from Commerce graduates, and an accompanying photograph. The system provides a way for students to submit their profile, and a way for administrators to review these submissions, flag any problems, and communicate with students regarding administrative requirements.

Saitech also provides consulting services with respect to the Business School's website architecture. Specifically, a comprehensive assessment of the current website architecture was composed, and advice provided regarding new technologies which may potentially be utilised to address problems inherent in the current system.
